Cowboy Jim Garling

If you’ve come looking for a great combination of old-time fiddling, western swing, and good old, down-to-earth cowboy songs, this is the group for you. The Sons of the Sage offer the hottest entertainment available with this combination.  The group is made up of native Oklahomans Jim Garling, Greg Burgess, and Richard Sharp.

Jim Garling offers smooth, solid vocals and outstanding guitar work. He lives in Guthrie and teaches fiddle and guitar lessons at the Double Stop Fiddle Shop as well as doing solo performances when the band does not have

engagements.

Greg Burgess is a first-rate fiddler who is an Oklahoma State Fiddle Championship winner. His fiddle playing is brilliant and inspired, making him the best and hottest fiddler around. Greg lives in Guthrie, Oklahoma.

The upright bass is played by Richard Sharp of Moore, Oklahoma. He has total command of his instrument and can produce amazing licks and runs with agility and grace. Richard also offers his splendid vocal talent to the group.

Greg and Richard have full-time jobs outside the music realm but always make time to engage in their passion for music. They both are members of the Byron Berline Band in Guthrie.

Sons of the Sage have music coursing through their veins and would like nothing more than to perform for your function be it a party, dinner program, dance, family reunion, hayride, trail ride, concert or festival.
